Charles Williams

The WAY Academy (TWA), Minneola, Fla.

Dr. Charles Williams Jr. is the founder of The WAY Academy (TWA), a Christ-centered private school in Lake County, Fla., whose mission is to inspire all students to grow spiritually, academically, and athletically. TWA’s linchpin scripture is John 14:6, where Jesus shared, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” The WAY Academy is designed to provide a stellar Christian education to all levels of students, with a particular focus on narrowing the achievement and opportunity gaps for those coming to TWA from low-income households.

Charles has spent the last 20 years in both the public and private sectors of education, serving the community as a math teacher, basketball coach, dean, assistant principal, and principal. He became the first in his family to attend and finish college, earning a B.A. and M.A. in music, and a M.Ed. and Ed.D. in educational leadership. Charles and his wife Betsy were both collegiate athletes and have three daughters. They regularly attend and serve at Real Life Church, as well as coach youth basketball and volleyball teams in their community.
