The Ecclesial Schools Initiative (ESI) is committed to the Christian classical model of education through the development of a network of financially accessible private Christian schools serving families in the Orlando metro area. ESI’s vision is of a classical education that beckons learners toward goodness, truth, and beauty, integrating faith into all areas of learning, and helping students acquire the habits of heart, body, and mind that are essential for living a flourishing human life. Each element of the life of the school—from the organization of time and space that make up a school’s atmosphere to its redemptive discipline policy and multifaceted pedagogy—is designed to support formation. ESI seeks to partner with host congregations to access underutilized buildings and property at below-market prices to keep costs low and focus on teaching and learning rather than capital campaigns or building programs. The first campus of this initiative, The Ecclesial School at St. Alban’s, launched in August 2020 with a lease agreement for the use of facilities from St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Oviedo, Fla. ESI President Kevin Clark participated in The Drexel Fund’s Founders Program in 2019-20.
