Westside Christian School

Columbus, Ohio

Eight local churches came together to form Westside Christian School, which operates out of one of the churches in the Hilltop section of Columbus. The historic neighborhood has experienced deepening poverty, and area schools have struggled to produce academic achievement. The school’s vision is to equip students with a strong foundation in academics and the principles of God’s Word, so they can be successful contributors to the community and have a future filled with faith. WCS believes that a factor in the educational “crisis” found in the Hilltop and across the United States is a theory of knowledge that “leaves no room for transcendence in a student’s learning and worldview formation.” Opened with grades K-2, WCS will grow one grade per year and reach a capacity of 90 students in grades K-5.
